Do you feel like you can’t get anything done? The day keeps slipping by and everything you needed to do gets piled up to everything you wanted to do and nothing gets done? Are you super overwhelmed? Yeah I know that’s most of us, especially us busy moms who are trying to let our babies fulfill all of their dreams while we are still chasing our own dreams and purposes.

Most people think I have it together…I DON’T!! They see the outside, Jocelyn is a mommy, girlfriend, she works full-time, back in school getting her Master’s and now she’s blogging. Let me tell you, I’ve been tired and didn’t know yesterday from today until I figured out how I could get it all done and not beat myself up.

Here’s what I did, to combat being overwhelmed and super tired.

I woke up early. I know what you’re thinking, I’m tired I need all of my rest and a bunch of other excuses. But here’s the thing, the earlier you rise the more hours you have in your day. If you start your day off rushing and running around like a chicken with its head cut off, guess what? Your whole day will be like that. The advantage of waking up early is this, you get to have more time. You ever wondered where your money was going while you were trying to save it and then you realize, I eat breakfast out every morning and that’s costing me $6, well that $6 you just spent could have been avoided especially since you have groceries in your refrigerator and tons of breakfast items. (I did this too). Look at there if you get up early you can fix breakfast at home and enjoy some me time. Being a mom it’s hard to get me time but at 5 am, I’m so grateful for that time before KJ gets up, I can think clearly and focus on my day ahead and enjoy a meal to myself.

Prepare for the next day, the night before

Go ahead and tell me you have to watch your shows. Go on I’m waiting! Stop this!! I’m sure you cooked dinner and dinner will probably be lunch the next day, so go ahead and pack your lunch, your spouses lunch and even the kids lunch. If you have little babies, prepare bottles and cups the night before so while you are finishing your me time in the morning all you have to do is grab everything out of the fridge and set it on the counter for easy pick up.

Even get your clothes out for the next day. This is tough for me. I normally have an idea of what I’m wearing but I don’t take it out. I saw this neat idea on Pinterest (Here), I think I might give it a try. It’s great for my morning routine of trying to get us out of the house. Go old school if you must and iron for the week. It takes a lot of discipline to wear what I’ve picked out. (Im indecisive). Do whatever works to add more time to your week.

Multi-task

And not everything. You like watching your reality shows and you also need to workout. Well workout while you watch your shows. Iron clothes for the week while you watch your shows. If you are like me and In school take your books wherever you go, you can read while waiting for an appointment, at lunch, on your morning commute (as long as you’re not driving, but audiobooks are awesome). Don’t make excuses as to why you can’t because of something that isn’t a true necessity.

Clean as you go/Do one chore in the morning

If you’re anything like me, I cook almost everyday or my boyfriend cooks. Clean the kitchen as you cook so when you are finished, all you have to do is turn the dishwasher on and you can enjoy your meal with your family. Also do a chore in the morning, take out the trash, wash a load of clothes, clean the bathroom, unload the dishwasher. do something that will make your evenings better. Trust me, it helps!!

Plan your meals ahead

Meal prepping isn’t just for the fitness minded but for the time wise as well. Plan your meals so you know what you are fixing for the week or go ahead and fix everything so all you have to do is grab and go. Because I cook just about every day, I fix my breakfast Sunday’s and take leftovers or a sandwich (wrap) during the week. The simple fact that I can just grab my breakfast and not have to worry about cooking anything in the morning is awesome!!!

I have given you some valuable keys to get more time back in your day. What are you going to do with this, read it and keep complaining or read and take action? Oh you said take action!! Great!! Get more time back in your week and watch how amazing your weeks become.
